Darndale Belcamp Oblates Grants Programme

The SSGT Darndale Belcamp Grants Programme was a place-based initiative to support groups and organisations working with residents of the Darndale Belcamp Parish area affected by issues of poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion. SSGT was asked by the Oblate Congregation to administer this small grants programme which operated between 2006 and 2015.

The Trust supported the work of organisations working with residents of Darndale and Belcamp, including those working with young people, older people and vulnerable adults. We funded a large range of work in Darndale and Belcamp including literacy programmes in schools, youth work, sports, services for older people and general community development. Annual Reports list the grants made. Work with Travellers living near Darndale Belcamp was also supported.

Evaluation: In 2013, the Trust commissioned Burtenshaw Kenny & Associates to undertake a mid-term evaluation of the Darndale Belcamp Oblate Grant Scheme, available here.

2009 Community Survey: In 2009, the Trust chaired the Darndale Belcamp Steering Group Committee which commissioned a wide ranging local survey. This is available here.
